Sobyanin noted the growing interest in the natural science vertical in schools

In four years, interest in the natural science vertical in Moscow schools has doubled. About 15 thousand people study in classes, which are open in almost 50% of schools in the capital, said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, on the channel in the MAX.

In specialized grades 7-9, students receive advanced training in biology, chemistry, and physics, as well as learn practical skills through additional courses. "The guys are engaged in research and development of projects based on partner schools and universities, and then present them at city scientific and practical conferences," Sobyanin said.

Partner universities include I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, N.I. Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, and D.I. Mendeleev Russian University of Chemical Technology. In total, 14 leading Moscow universities cooperate with the capital's schools within the framework of the program.

In addition, an online science marathon with interdisciplinary assignments is held for students every year. All this helps students to pass the main state exam and enroll in pre-professional classes: medical, IT, engineering or psychological and pedagogical. Subsequently, graduates enter leading universities.

The development of natural science education in the capital corresponds to the objectives of the national project "Youth and Children", said the Mayor of Moscow. The measures are aimed at unlocking the potential of schoolchildren, improving the quality of education and early career guidance.

Earlier, Sobyanin spoke about the programs of pre-professional classes, in which 47 thousand people study. He noted that schoolchildren have the opportunity not only to study their chosen subjects in depth, but also to engage in scientific research. More than 400 universities, colleges and manufacturing companies cooperate with the pre-professional classes of Moscow schools.
