A criminologist has revealed a scheme for online involvement of teenagers in crimes
Recruiters search for minors to commit crimes in job channels and on dating sites. Sebila Salamova, a criminologist and associate professor of the Department of Criminology and Penal Enforcement Law at the Moscow State Law Institute, told Izvestia about this.
According to her, the scheme is based on a gradual tightening of the "instructions". First, the teenager is offered an "easy" task: transfer money, send a message, take a picture of something, the expert pointed out.
"He has an illusion: 'I have grown-up people working with me, they pay, so I can trust them.' The next task is obviously illegal. As soon as the teenager has committed the act, the recruiters turn to threats: "you are now an accomplice, we know where you live, your parents will respond." The teenager understands that there is no way back," the interlocutor of the editorial office revealed the algorithm of actions.
At the same time, criminals are purposefully looking for children experiencing financial difficulties or loneliness, rather than "bad" teenagers with deviant behavior, Salamova emphasized.
