On March 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the authorities of the republic for supporting the work of the Russian Drama Theater in Baku.

"Relations between Russia and Azerbaijan are built on a solid foundation of common history and cultural heritage. In particular, the Russian Drama Theater has been successfully operating in Baku for more than a century, which is very popular," Putin said at the opening ceremony of the Azerbaijan State Musical and Drama Theater in Derbent.
