Consuming caffeine in high doses can reduce the chances of pregnancy and affect a woman's health in the first trimester. Andrey Simakov, a gastroenterologist and specialist in neurogastroenterology, told Izvestia on March 27.
According to the doctor, caffeine in high doses can really affect the onset of pregnancy. It is important to clarify that for women planning pregnancy, the recommended amount of caffeine should not exceed 300 mg per day.
As Simakov noted, too much caffeine intake can also have an impact on the health of a pregnant woman, especially in the first trimester. However, coffee is not the only factor affecting fertility. According to the expert, healthy eating and physical activity are also considered important aspects. In addition, stress and smoking also affect the ability to conceive and bear children.
"Coffee is not the only factor, in fact, there are a lot more of them, coffee is actually one of the last places to influence what is happening," the expert concluded.
