Moskvich technocluster launched a pilot project for the assembly of electric scooters

The Yandex Go rental service, together with the Moscow automobile technocluster Moskvich and the Department of Transport of the capital, announced the launch of a pilot project for the local assembly of personal mobility equipment (SIM). As part of the test phase, 2 thousand electric scooters will be produced at Moskvich's facilities, which will appear on the streets in the 2026 season.

"Today, the Moskvich technocluster has modern equipment and highly qualified specialists to assemble the most up—to-date electric vehicles," said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry. He called the launch of such production in the capital an important step in the development of domestic technologies.

Testing of scooters before going out on the streets meets the car testing standards, the deputy mayor noted. "This ensures that the transport is ready to operate in any conditions. According to the task of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, we are doing everything to ensure that citizens' trips always remain as reliable and comfortable as possible," Liksutov added.

The project is aimed at assessing the technical and economic potential of the production of Russian components for SIM, the Moscow Transport Complex noted. For the production of electric scooters at Moskvich, a production site with an area of more than 1 thousand square meters was created from scratch in two months. The design bureau of Yandex was engaged in designing electric scooters.

In the technocluster, the devices undergo a full training cycle. The control tests include passing obstacles: climbing five-meter ramps, overcoming a series of speed bumps, as well as simulating traffic on asphalt and paving stones.

The Moscow Automobile technocluster Moskvich is one of the largest machine—building enterprises in Russia. The territory houses a modern high-tech production complex producing passenger cars and electric vehicles.
