About a hundred witnesses have been announced in the case of Artyom Chekalin.
In the case of the blogger's ex-wife Valeria Chekalina (Lerchek) About a hundred witnesses have been reported to Artyom. This was reported on March 27 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the Gagarin District Court of Moscow.
"We have 96 witnesses on our list," said lawyer Korney Podvoisky.
Chekalin himself shared with the correspondent that his ex-wife needs money for medical treatment and family maintenance. Artyom admitted that he was worried about Lerchek's health.
He also commented that he does not know anything about the new business of her mother, Elvira Feopentova, who, according to media reports, has registered a new cosmetics brand. Chekalin said that he did not know about the brand of cosmetics, nor about the involvement of his ex-wife in the business.
Chekalina gave birth to her fourth child with Argentine choreographer Luis Squicciarini in February this year, and was hospitalized the day after her discharge. According to the man, Lercek, who was found to have cancer cells during one of the examinations, began to undergo radiation therapy. Some time later, on March 16, the blogger was released from house arrest, and the criminal proceedings were suspended due to an oncological disease detected in the person involved.
Another criminal case against Lercek and her ex-husband Artyom Chekalin was opened in October last year. The ex-husband and wife, as well as their accomplice Roman Vishnyak, were suspected of illegally withdrawing more than 250 million rubles from Russia to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) using forged documents. Chekalin, like Lercek, denied involvement in the withdrawal of funds abroad, but pleaded guilty to violating tax laws.
