Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. In response to the terrorist attacks by Ukraine on civilian targets in Russia, the Russian Armed Forces carried out massive and five group strikes, which affected enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, fuel and energy, transport and airfield infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), workshops for the production of remote-controlled boats, manufacturing sites storage and preparation for the launch of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as temporary locations for Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries.

Units of the North group of forces established control over the settlements of Potapovka, Sumy region, Peschanoe and Shevyakovka, Kharkiv region, and defeated the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy lost more than 1,620 people, 11 armored combat vehicles, 88 vehicles, 15 field artillery guns, seven electronic warfare and counter-battery warfare stations, as well as 49 ammunition and materiel depots.

The military personnel of the Zapad group of forces improved their tactical position and defeated the manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Ukrainian formations lost over 1,280 soldiers, five tanks, 31 armored fighting vehicles, 164 vehicles, 11 field artillery guns, three electronic warfare stations, as well as 17 ammunition and materiel depots.

As a result of active offensive actions, the southern group of troops liberated the settlement of Nikiforovka in the DPR. Formations of four mechanized, motorized infantry, assault, mountain assault, airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a marine brigade were defeated. During the week, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 1,210 militants and 21 armored combat vehicles. 96 vehicles, 22 field artillery guns, 11 radio-electronic and counter-battery warfare stations, 31 ammunition depots, fuel and materiel were destroyed.

The Center group of troops improved its tactical position and occupied more advantageous positions, as well as defeated the manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces units. In total, the enemy lost over 2,395 people, 63 armored combat vehicles, 97 vehicles, 21 field artillery guns, and 10 electronic warfare and counter-battery stations in this area. Three ammunition depots were destroyed.

The units of the Vostok group of forces have advanced into the depth of the enemy's defenses. The manpower and equipment of two mechanized, two amphibious assault, assault brigades, three assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade and a National Guard brigade were defeated. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to more than 2,065 soldiers, 16 armored combat vehicles, 53 vehicles and 12 artillery pieces. Five ammunition and materiel depots were destroyed.

The military personnel of the Dnepr group of forces improved their tactical situation. The formations of three mechanized, mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade were defeated. The enemy lost up to 310 militants, 45 vehicles, four field artillery guns, 20 electronic warfare stations, 16 ammunition depots, fuel and materiel.

47 guided aerial bombs, three US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, four Neptune long-range guided missiles and 3,138 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special military operation, 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 128,363 unmanned aerial vehicles, 652 anti-aircraft missile systems, 28,525 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,693 multiple rocket launchers, 34,113 field artillery guns and mortars, 57,938 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
