Saveliev announced plans to open Anapa beaches by June 1.
Anapa beaches are planned to be fully prepared for the reception of tourists by June 1, 2026. This was announced on March 27 by Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Saveliev at a press conference at a meeting of the government commission for the elimination of consequences of the fuel oil spill.
According to Saveliev, more than 90% of oil products have already been removed, and seawater is recognized as suitable for use. The remaining work on pumping fuel oil is scheduled to be completed during April and May. The main focus is now on bringing the coastline to a standard state.
He added that together with Rospotrebnadzor, a solution was found for additional filling of territories with clean sand. An experiment conducted by the supervisory authority together with the administration of the Krasnodar Territory on the coast confirmed the effectiveness of this technique.
"On June 1, we are preparing to prepare our beaches for the reception of our citizens," he said.
On February 21, the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory reported that Anapa had begun cleaning up fuel oil emissions that the storm had raised from the bottom in the coastal zone of the sea. It was noted that work was organized on site to clean up the territory.
On February 27, Krasnodar Territory Governor Veniamin Kondratiev asked to examine Anapa's eight pebble beaches for compliance with sanitary standards. As the head of the region noted, no new emissions have been recorded there over the past six months, and the seawater meets all the requirements.
