Krasnodar Krai has become the most sought-after holiday destination in Russia in the summer of 2026, increasing the share of bookings and the average duration of trips. This was reported to Izvestia on March 30 by analysts of the OneTwoTrip travel planning service.

According to experts, the Krasnodar Territory has again become the leader in demand. The region increased its share in the structure of orders to 25.4%, and also showed an increase in the duration of trips.

"Krasnodar Krai has also become the absolute leader in terms of length of stay: on average, travelers book accommodation here for 6.9 days (6.5 days a year earlier)," the service's analysts noted.

The second place was taken by St. Petersburg, whose share decreased to 17%. Despite this, interest in the destination remains stable, and the average length of stay has increased to 4.3 days.

"The Kaliningrad region closes the top three with a 5.9% share. Despite the fact that he did not change the popularity rating over the year, the region showed a noticeable drop in the total volume of orders — by 24.7%. And the length of stay here has been reduced to 4.3 days compared to 4.4 days in 2025," the analysts emphasized.

According to analysts, Crimea took the fourth place, where demand increased by more than 50%, but the behavior of tourists has changed: the average length of rest has decreased to 5.6 days. Tatarstan rounded out the top five with a 2.5% share, while demand decreased slightly and the duration of trips increased to 3.4 days.

Additional analysis showed an increase in interest in new areas that had not previously been among the mainstream. A number of regions have shown significant increases in bookings. Strong demand growth was recorded in the Vladimir and Arkhangelsk regions, as well as in Moscow, Vologda and Tula regions, the experts concluded.

Olga Chirikova, senior lecturer at the Department of Civil Law Sciences at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, said on March 27 that if a Russian takes a working week off from May 4 to May 8, the May holidays will last a total of 11 days. In addition, Chirikova added that the May holidays in 2026 were shortened due to the mechanics of postponing weekends. In addition, the expert drew attention to the special order for the New Year holidays.
