Artificial intelligence can conduct medical consultations and clinical trials, help invest in the stock market, but in the hands of fraudsters it can cause damage. This was discussed by the participants of the session of the VTB Investment Forum "RUSSIA IS CALLING! Yekaterinburg", dedicated to artificial intelligence.

Experts noted that banking is one of the most promising areas of AI application, as it already has a developed digital environment. In particular, VTB uses this technology for credit scoring, and the "Artificial Intelligence" strategy has been implemented in brokerage services, which has shown a 13.3% return since its introduction, said Alexander Alekseev, Managing Director of VTB's Brokerage services Department.

For an investor, AI can analyze IFRS financial statements, but generative models cannot yet be trusted with investment decisions due to "hallucinations," Alekseev warned. If we are talking about brokerage services, then they need to be trained on a specific set of data, the expert noted. For example, the intelligence at VTB My Investments has been making decisions based on stock market data since 2010, and this data is updated every trading day.

Maxim Kuznetsov, Director of the Department for Strategic Development and Partnerships at the AIRI Institute, is confident that medicine will become another industry for the introduction of AI. He recalled that in Moscow, this technology already processes primary patient data and complaints for recommendations to therapists. "Next, we think we should create an AI consultation in medicine, where complex diagnoses are dealt with using AI," the expert said.

Igor Kuznetsov, director of the Kaspersky GReAT Global Threat Research and Analysis Center, noted that attackers are also experimenting with AI models. "The biggest threat is attacks by ransomware and cryptographers. Last year, the number of such attacks on fintech alone increased by 43%," said a Kaspersky GReAT representative, adding that in the fall there was the largest volume of attacks by cryptographers in the last 2 years.
