VTsIOM named the proportion of Russians who admit the existence of a brownie
Every second Russian admits the existence of a brownie guarding the house and its inhabitants. This is evidenced by the results of a VTsIOM survey, which was reviewed by Izvestia on March 27.
According to the study, 50% of respondents recognize the presence of a brownie, while 43% rather do not allow such a possibility, and 7% found it difficult to answer.
VTsIOM noted that entities designed to protect people enjoy the greatest trust. Thus, two thirds of Russians believe in higher powers that protect them in danger or in battle, and more than half believe in spirits that protect the military. Belief in defenders of children and animals is more widespread than in abstract spirits of nature.
At the same time, belief in classical folklore characters is less stable: every third respondent admits the existence of goblins, and only every fifth respondent admits of mermaids.
The study also revealed the popularity of magical practices. About 60% of the respondents visited healing springs, one in two turned to horoscopes, and more than a third resorted to fortune-telling. In addition, one in four Russians uses protective paraphernalia in the form of amulets and amulets associated with the worship of natural forces or spirits.
According to the results of the financial marketplace survey, "I will choose.<url>" 33% of Russians believe in "monetary" signs. At the same time, almost every second of them tries to observe "monetary" rituals before making an important financial decision. Among the most common "financial" signs and rituals are the demonstration of a bill to the growing moon, the prohibition on transferring cash in the evening, and the tradition of putting a charger in a wallet to "recharge finances."
