The Central District Court of Kemerovo has placed Sergei Belov, the former chief physician of the Svoboda private drug treatment clinic, under house arrest. This was reported on March 27 by a RIA Novosti correspondent from the courtroom.

"To choose a preventive measure for the accused Sergey Sergeevich Belov <...> in the form of house arrest for a period of one month and 23 days, that is, until May 18, 2026," the judge announced the decision.

It is specified that the court refused to satisfy the petition of the investigator of the Investigative Committee (IC), who insisted on Belov's detention.

A source from Izvestia reported on March 25 that relatives of patients at the Svoboda Clinic in Kemerovo, where a man had died earlier, were being intimidated and blackmailed. For the managers of the institution, the most important thing was to "drive patients" to the hospital under the pretext of poor health.

The director of the Svoboda drug treatment clinic was taken into custody on the same day in Kemerovo. In addition, the investigation established that the director had purchased five vials of psychotropic substances for subsequent resale.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
