The Sports and Disciplinary Committee of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) has disqualified Evgeny Kuznetsov, a player of the Salavat Yulaev hockey club, for one match. This was announced on March 27 on the official website of the league.

"Based on the submitted materials, make a decision to impose a penalty on Salavat Yulaev striker Evgeny Kuznetsov under clause 1.30 of Article 29 of the KHL Disciplinary Regulations ("Uses any obscene, obscene or offensive gesture towards the referee or any person"), disqualify him for one match and subject him to a monetary fine," the publication says..

Kuznetsov made an insulting gesture during a match with HC Avtomobilist on March 23.

HC Lokomotiv from Yaroslavl defeated Spartak Moscow on March 24 in the first match of the first round of the KHL playoffs with a score of 5:3. Alexander Radulov, Georgy Ivanov, Richard Panik, Martin Gernat and Nikita Kiryanov scored for the winning team.
