Dmitriev warned of the approaching severe energy crisis in the EU
Europe and the UK will beg Russia to restore oil and gas supplies. This was announced on March 26 by Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.
"Russia will certainly receive many requests from Europe and Britain to receive Russian energy resources and will decide whether to give or not. But our prediction is very clear that Europe and Britain will beg for Russian energy resources and Russia will make the appropriate decision or not," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying on the sidelines of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs congress.
According to Dmitriev, the West has exposed itself by refusing to supply domestic resources.
At the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs congress on March 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin advised Russian businessmen to refrain from the temptation to "eat through" them and maintain prudence due to the excess income from rising oil prices. Also, it is not necessary to use the finances from new revenues for state budget expenditures, inflating them too much, Putin added.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on March 26 that Russian oil and petroleum products are in high demand on the world market and are sold without any discounts, but freight costs have increased due to the situation in the Middle East. The politician noted that fuel transportation costs have increased due to the "blockage" of a large number of tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.
