On March 26, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, announced that there is a risk of a major nuclear accident due to attacks on the Bushehr nuclear power plant.

"Damage to the facility could lead to a major radiological accident affecting a vast area in Iran and beyond," the agency's press service quoted him as saying on the social network X.

It is clarified that Grossi considers it necessary to exercise maximum caution and restraint in order to prevent a nuclear accident, and also stressed the importance of observing the seven key principles of ensuring nuclear safety in conflict situations.

On March 24, the Iranian government informed the IAEA about a shell hitting the Bushehr NPP building. According to the agency, the station has not received any confirmations, and the staff was not injured.

The head of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, announced on March 25 that 163 people had been evacuated from the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran. He added that there are currently about 300 people at the station. Several dozen specialists will also be left at the site.
