The Iranian authorities suspect the striker of the Emirati club Shabab Al-Ahli, ex-Zenit football player Serdar Azmun of allegedly helping Israel and the United States and intend to confiscate his property. This was reported by the Fars news agency on March 26.
"The Prosecutor General's Office emphasized in its statement that any communication and cooperation with the enemy abroad that harms national security will be subject to confiscation of all property and other legal sanctions in accordance with the law," the publication says.
It is clarified that the ex-Zenit striker is on the list of 16 suspects living abroad in cooperation with "American-Zionist terrorist organizations," which were uncovered with the participation of intelligence and law enforcement agencies.
On March 10, Iran's special services announced the detention of 30 spies from the United States and Israel. It was clarified that all the detainees were from among the spies who are mercenaries of the American-Zionist enemy.
Tasnim news agency reported on March 15 that 20 people were detained in Iran on suspicion of collaborating with Israeli intelligence.
