The author claims that he wore them for a little over a year under the supervision of a doctor and cleaned them regularly. The price is 5,000 rubles, and even installments are offered. Implantologist Ilya Usachev assessed the danger of the new trend.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Thursday, March 26, the specialist noted that he doubts the adequacy of such actions and expressed the hope that it was a joke. He explained that using someone else's bracket system is associated with serious risks - from the point of view of safety, hygiene and medical expediency, since it is impossible to guarantee the absence of infections from the previous owner, even with regular cleaning.
The specialist also noted that orthodontic treatment is selected strictly individually: different systems differ in design and mechanics of impact, so what helped one patient may harm another. According to him, there are no universal solutions in orthodontics, and any designs, including plates, require a personal approach, especially since modern capabilities allow it. He added that braces and aligners have grown in popularity in recent years due to their availability and an increase in the number of malocclusion disorders.
