American leader Donald Trump said at a cabinet meeting on March 26 that the Ukrainian crisis was not a conflict between the United States.

"I heard [German Chancellor Friedrich Merz] say, 'This is not our war,' referring to Iran. I replied, "Well, Ukraine is also not our <conflict>, but we helped," the US president said.

Trump said on the same day that Washington was working very hard to end the conflict in Ukraine. He added that his administration is working hard on this issue. Expressing hope for its speedy resolution, the American leader clarified that the conflict, in his opinion, is "calming down a little."
