The rights of the Russian-speaking population are now being completely exterminated in Ukraine. This was announced on March 26 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with the French television company France Television.

According to the Foreign Minister, the problem faced by Russian-speaking people in Ukraine is the complete destruction of their rights with the silence of European countries.

"Can you imagine any country banning a language, especially the official language of the United Nations in all areas without exception? They can be held administratively or even criminally liable for this if you use Russian in Ukraine," Lavrov said.

Drawing a parallel with Iran, the head of Russian diplomacy noted that Hebrew is not banned in this country. In Israel, he added, neither Arabic nor other languages are prohibited, while Ukraine uses a similar practice.

Commissioner for the Protection of the state language of Ukraine Olena Ivanovska on March 15 designated the Russian language as allegedly "the language of power and arrogance." According to her, when Russian-speaking families move to Lviv, the situation with the choice of language of communication is not in favor of Ukrainian. Often, locals themselves begin to communicate in Russian.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on February 4 that the Ukrainian authorities were harassing the Russian-speaking population, but the Russian language continued to be in demand.
