SF supports mandatory attestation of children in family education
The need to introduce mandatory intermediate attestations for children in family education is associated with the growing popularity of this format. About 99.4 thousand people currently receive family education in Russia, Professor Igor Murog, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture, told Izvestia.
Their number increases by about 15-17% annually.
"The reasons for this choice are diverse: parents strive to adapt the learning process to the personal interests and pace of the child, reduce the stress level associated with collective learning, and create comfortable conditions for children with special needs or high extracurricular activities, such as young athletes or musicians," the parliamentarian explained.
Family education, in his opinion, makes it possible to flexibly plan study time, study specialized disciplines in depth and form independence. However, this format requires a high degree of self-organization and responsibility from parents and the student himself, and may also entail additional costs for educational services and online courses.
The introduction of mandatory annual intermediate certification may be a factor encouraging some parents to consider returning a child to a traditional school, the senator did not rule out. But for families who have consciously opted for this format for the sake of an individual approach, flexible schedule or for medical reasons, regular check-ups will not be a significant obstacle.
"On the contrary, it will make it possible to identify and eliminate possible gaps in knowledge in a timely manner, which will strengthen confidence in the family form of education and even improve its quality," the source said.
