Currently, the situation in the Middle East is still developing according to the worst-case scenario. This was announced on March 26 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"So far, it can be stated that the situation is developing according to the worst—case scenario," he said in an interview with the Vesti news agency.

The Russian leader's spokesman also clarified that Moscow is closely monitoring further developments around the region.

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the conflict in the Middle East was damaging global logistics and production. He stressed that due to what is happening, industries related to the extraction and processing of hydrocarbons, metals, and the production of fertilizers are under attack.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on March 25 that the US and Israeli operation against Iran was out of control, so the world is on the verge of a broader conflict. He added that it was time to stop escalating the conflict and seek a diplomatic solution.
