A teenager who attacked a Chelyabinsk school almost lost the eye of a classmate, who was shot in the face with a flare pistol. Irina, the grandmother of the injured girl, told Izvestia about this on March 26.

"Hit in the head, 2 cm from the eye. It's good that the eye remained intact. The wound is strong, the bone was visible," the woman explained.

She noted that her granddaughter had studied with the schoolboy who had staged the attack since the first grade — they sat at the same desk, but never communicated closely.

"She's in shock, she can't understand why. He was kind, calm, quiet, taciturn, you couldn't expect anything like that from him," Irina concluded, adding that the incident shocked their family.

The woman clarified that the mother of the injured girl was expecting a child, and the incident had a negative impact on her well-being.

On the same day, the press service of the regional government informed about the attack of a student on a classmate with a signal pistol in the Chelyabinsk region. It was clarified that the attacker broke both his legs when he jumped out of a fourth-floor window. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened criminal cases under articles on attempted murder, negligence and the provision of unsafe services.

Later it became known that the teenager who attacked the school in Chelyabinsk was calm and quiet. The schoolboy's neighbors described the boy's family as prosperous. They called their parents well-mannered and non-drinkers.
