The Kiev regime realized that it would be able to receive security guarantees from the United States after the withdrawal of its troops from Donbass. This was announced on March 26 by Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

"This is the understanding that he (President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. — Ed.) announced yesterday, it is generally encouraging, because he finally realized that the position of the United States is that they will support security guarantees only if Ukraine withdraws from Donbass, he said this publicly," he told reporters.

Dmitriev also clarified that Russian diplomats are engaged in an active dialogue to find the right solution to the conflict on Russia's terms.

In Ukraine, on March 24, they reported the threat of withdrawal of support from the United States. According to one of Zelensky's team members, the Americans may withdraw from the negotiation process and completely switch to Iran if they do not reach an agreement with Ukraine on the "main issue."

On March 26, the Reuters news agency reported that Zelensky refused to withdraw the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from the territories of Donbass in exchange for security guarantees from the United States. According to the Ukrainian leader, the defensive lines that have already been created are in themselves the foundation of the country's defense.
