Data center cameras revealed more than 150 thousand traffic violations in two months
In the first two months of 2026, the cameras of the Traffic Management Center (DPC) recorded more than 150,000 violations of the rules for using the phone, seat belts and headlights. The Moscow Department of Transport announced this on March 26 in its channel in MAX.
So, in January – February, the cameras identified about 37 thousand drivers and 91 thousand passengers who did not use seat belts; 85 thousand drivers using a phone while driving; and 30 thousand cars whose low beam headlights or daytime running lights were not turned on during daylight hours.
Most often, such violations were recorded by cameras on Varshavskoye Highway (170G.), the inner side of the 10th km of the MKAD (in the area of 7, building 6 on Ferghana Passage), Narodnaya Opolcheniya Street (31) and the inner side of the TTK (in the area of 9 on 2nd Street of Mechanical Engineering).
Currently, there are about 3.7 thousand cameras operating in Moscow, which use neural networks to detect 67 types of violations. Their installation helps to reduce the accident rate at the sites by up to 30%, the Department of Transport noted.
Earlier, on January 29, it was reported that the "smart" cameras of the data center in Moscow began to detect scooters and bicycles on the roads. According to Maxim Liksutov, Deputy mayor of the capital, cameras have learned how to record the movement of SIM users in lanes designed for cars, which is prohibited by traffic rules and creates danger.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
