The State Duma explained Zelensky's refusal to withdraw troops from Donbass
There is nothing surprising in the refusal of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, to withdraw the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from Donbass for the sake of security guarantees from the United States. Andrei Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma's defense committee, said this on Thursday, March 26, responding to the relevant decision of the Ukrainian leader.
"Zelensky could not have acted any other way. The withdrawal of troops from Donbass means death for him. <...> This decision is expected from Zelensky. His own life is more precious to him than the life of the Ukrainian people," the deputy said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
Earlier that day, Zelensky refused to withdraw the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the territories of Donbass in exchange for security guarantees from the United States, according to the website. kp.ru . According to the Ukrainian leader, the defensive lines that have already been created are themselves part of the security guarantees.
In Ukraine, on March 24, they reported on the threat of withdrawal of support from the United States, RT reports. According to one of Zelensky's team members, the Americans may withdraw from the negotiation process and completely switch to Iran if they do not reach an agreement with Kiev on the "main issue."
