The "cosmic" cake is made from cookies, honey, nuts, condensed milk, cottage cheese and candied fruits. Oleg Artemyev, a test cosmonaut of the Gagarin Scientific Research Institute of the Central Committee of the Russian Federation, a Hero of the Russian Federation, a first-class test cosmonaut instructor of the Roscosmos cosmonaut squad, a public figure, and a deputy of the Moscow City Duma, announced this on Thursday, March 26.

"We have these cosmic cookies, they are soaked in honey or condensed milk and glued together. They form cakes, and then pour them with liquid cottage cheese with nuts," Artemyev told the Moscow city news agency.

According to the cosmonaut, it takes about 1.5–2 hours to prepare the cake, while there is enough food for the entire crew - for seven people.

Cosmonautics Day is celebrated on April 12. In 2026, the holiday coincides with Easter.

Earlier, on March 25, Tatiana Ivanova, a nutritionist at the K+31 medical clinic network, said that the main principles of the Easter menu are moderation and balance. It is important to avoid excess calories, sugar, and fat by supplementing your diet with fresh foods, fiber, and protein sources.

On March 20, Olga Chirkova, a doctor and expert on medical prevention, advised leaving the post gradually and carefully, RT reports.
