KamAZ is studying the transition to a one-day work week starting on June 1, and the company's production plan for this year may be reduced. This is due to weak market growth prospects and pressure from imported machinery from manufacturers in China. This was reported on March 26 by TASS with reference to the press service of the Naberezhnye Chelny auto giant.

The company clarified that the transition to a shorter working week will be implemented only "if negative market conditions persist," but this measure will not affect units that have "continuous production." KAMAZ switched to a four-day program last year.

The manufacturer noted that the heavy truck market in Russia has decreased by 40% compared to the same period in 2025, and KAMAZ has reduced its sales by 15%, although it has increased its market share to 37%.

According to Rosstat, the production of trucks in Russia in January-February decreased by 33.1% and amounted to 15,000 units. In February, the output amounted to 9.3 thousand units (-31.3%).

The day before, it was reported that JAC Motors and the KamAZ-master motorsport team announced the beginning of cooperation in motorsport. Several models from the Chinese brand's line will act as escort vehicles during rally races, will serve as logistical support for crews and press cars, and perform other tasks.
