Iran has announced a high price for the United States for a possible ground operation in the republic.

A possible US ground operation in Iran would result in heavy losses for the Americans and would have irreversible consequences. This was announced on February 26 by the commander of the ground forces of the Iranian army, General Ali Jahanshahi.

"The enemy must know that a ground war will be more dangerous, costly and irreversible for him," the IRNA news agency quoted him as saying on its Telegram channel.

According to Jahanshahi, the Iranian Armed Forces are continuously and precisely monitoring any U.S. movements in the border areas. He stressed that the army is ready to implement any scenario at any time and in any place.

"We are tracking the enemy's movements moment by moment with great accuracy and are ready for any scenario at any time and in any place," the general said.

He added that thanks to the vigilance and combat readiness of soldiers and officers, the Iranian troops are able to give a crushing rebuff in the event of aggression.

CNN reported on March 25 that the Iranian side is strengthening the defense of Kharq Island to protect against a possible ground operation by the United States.
