Doctors noted the positive dynamics in the treatment of cancer of blogger Lercek (real name — Valeria Chekalina). All the details are in the Izvestia article.

Luis Squicciarini, the beloved blogger of Lercek, reported in the story of his Instagram page (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) about significant improvements in her condition. According to him, Chekalina has been going without strong painkillers for a week now. In addition, she began to move independently, although she had previously been forced to use a wheelchair-accessible means of transportation.

"I am very proud of her — she has been without strong painkillers for a week now," Squicciarini wrote on social media.

Squicciarini also clarified the situation with the blogger's eyesight. Previously, due to metastases, the right eye completely stopped seeing, but during therapy, half of the organ's functions were restored. Improvements were recorded against the background of undergoing chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiation therapy.

Diagnosis of Lercek

33-year-old Chekalina was diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer with multiple metastases. Tumors were found in the spine, skull bones, lungs, brain and its shell. A critical deterioration in health occurred at the end of February after the birth of the fourth child.

The treatment schedule includes nine procedures with an interval of three weeks. The blogger is currently undergoing therapy at the State Cancer Center. Chekalina's defense associates the defendant's serious condition with the impossibility of timely diagnosis due to restrictions under house arrest.

"Lera underwent her first chemistry and immune therapy. We're starting the second one soon. There will be nine of them in total. The right eye is not fully visible yet," the blogger's fiance said.

Judicial decisions

The Gagarin District Court of Moscow has suspended a criminal case on the withdrawal of funds to the UAE in connection with Chekalina's illness. The measure of restraint was changed to a ban on certain actions. At the same time, the tax debt of 176 million rubles was fully repaid by an anonymous benefactor.

The Moscow Interior Ministry denied information about a complete ban on visiting doctors during house arrest. The department clarified that the refusals concerned only private commercial clinics, while the blogger was not prevented from visiting public medical institutions. At the same time, according to Super, referring to data from the Telegram channel Shot, Chekalina's mother Elvira Feopentova has registered a new cosmetics brand, in the development of which Valeria herself plans to participate.

Legislative initiative

Deputies from the New People faction submitted to the State Duma a bill providing for permission for citizens under house arrest to visit a doctor. The document proposes to supplement Article 107 of the Criminal Code with a new norm, according to which a suspect or accused has the right to visit medical institutions for medical reasons.

The reason for the development of the initiative was the incident with Lercek, who was diagnosed with a severe disease. The blogger's fiance Luis Squicciarini expressed regret that the problem was solved only after creating a wide public outcry.

"Of course, the news is good, but it's sad that the price for it is stage four cancer. It turns out that it was necessary to bring it to a critical point, and only the created resonance forced them to patch up the gaps that cost Lera (and I think not only her) health. Why did the rights protection mechanism work so formally that such an illustration was required?", Luis Squicciarini wrote on social networks.
