WP pointed to the ability of Iranian missiles to penetrate Israel's air defenses
Massive strikes from Iran have exposed serious vulnerabilities in the Israeli air defense system. This was reported on March 26 by The Washington Post (WP).
According to the publication, the effectiveness of Israel's "indestructible shield" has been questioned. The article notes that the successful overcoming of defensive lines by Iranian missiles puts Tel Aviv in front of a difficult strategic choice.
"Faith in the modern Israeli air defense system has been shaken. These strikes have made us think that Israel may have to save expensive interceptors in order to protect vital facilities for a long time," the newspaper emphasizes.
Earlier in the day, the Iranian Armed Forces attacked the largest thermal power plant in Israel. According to sources, the explosion, which caused a large cloud of smoke, occurred in the immediate vicinity of the station.
On March 26, military formations of the Hezbollah movement attacked the Kiria complex of buildings of the Israeli Ministry of Defense located in Tel Aviv. It was noted that these strikes were a response to "the ongoing shelling and displacement of civilians" by Israel.
