71% of Russians plan to spend their summer holidays in the country, while the main expectations from the trip will remain rest and new experiences. This is evidenced by research data from Ozon Travel and Aeroflot, which was reviewed by Izvestia on March 28.

According to the survey, two thirds of Russians travel at least once a year. This summer, 73% of tourists intend to go on a trip for rest and relaxation, 67% — for new experiences, more than half expect comfort and a high level of service, and one in three — for active recreation and vivid emotions. At the same time, only one in four is going abroad.

Among the domestic destinations, the beach resorts of the Black Sea coast are the most in demand — about a third of respondents choose them. Natural locations such as Baikal, Altai, Karelia, Kamchatka and the Caucasus, as well as large cities, are also popular. According to Aeroflot, Moscow — Sochi, Moscow — Kaliningrad, Moscow — Petropavlovsk—Kamchatsky and Vladivostok - Moscow are among the most popular routes this summer.

In addition, almost 30% of tourists expect a relaxing holiday, 16% plan active trips with hiking and trekking, and 13% want to get to know the culture and cuisine of the regions. Most travelers prefer independent trips: 42% choose a plane or train, another 38% choose a car. Almost 60% plan to spend up to 80 thousand rubles on holidays in Russia.

Abroad, Russians most often focus on beach holidays: 61% of respondents choose it. Almost half of the respondents are also interested in cultural and natural attractions. Women are more likely to choose resorts in Turkey and Egypt, while men choose Asian countries. At the same time, 70% of tourists abroad prefer package tours. The basic budget for such trips ranges from 80 thousand to 200 thousand rubles.

Aeroflot's statistics confirm this trend: flights from Moscow to Antalya, Istanbul, Yerevan and Nha Trang have become the most popular foreign destinations. About 12% of passengers plan business class flights.

The majority of Russians will go on vacation with their spouses: more than 70% — abroad and about two thirds in Russia. About 40% travel with children, and one in five travel with friends. Most often, vacations last from six to ten days, which is confirmed by the airline's data: round-trip tickets are most often purchased with an interval of 7-10 days.

Earlier, on March 23, it was reported that Kaliningrad became the most popular destination for travel in Russia in April, and Istanbul is the leader among foreign routes.
