The State Duma proposed to increase fines for employers for repeated violations

State Duma deputies proposed to double the fines for employers for repeated violations of labor laws, including salary delays and violations of labor protection requirements. The text of the bill on March 26 is quoted by RIA Novosti.

One of the authors of the initiative is Yaroslav Nilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs. The MP explained that the purpose of the initiative is to stop ignoring the labor rights of employees.

"We propose to double the size of fines for repeated violations by employers. It should be more profitable for businesses to invest in timely payment of labor, ensuring its protection and all the guarantees due to employees than to abuse the law and regularly pay fines," Nilov said.
