The US government is working on the free passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz and wants to achieve this as soon as possible. This was announced on March 25 by White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt.

"At the moment, I don't have a specific timeline for you (unblocking the Strait of Hormuz. — Ed.), but it is obvious that the administration is trying to achieve this as quickly as possible," she replied to a question from reporters.

The Politico newspaper reported on March 24 that the UK had proposed holding a summit on security issues related to the unblocking of the Strait of Hormuz. According to the interlocutors, Britain intends to propose to the countries the creation of a coalition to open a safe route through the strait and ensure safe merchant shipping.

On March 25, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced Iran's permission for vessels from friendly countries, including Russia and China, to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. In addition, he added that Tehran sees no reason to allow ships from enemy states to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

Tasnim news agency reported on March 25 that Iran could open a new front or create a real threat to the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait if the enemy launches military operations on the Iranian islands or escalates the conflict in another way.
