A criminal case has been opened in St. Petersburg against a woman who attacked TV channel journalists. 78.ru . This was announced on March 25 in the press service of the Main Investigative Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the city of St. Petersburg.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that a woman attacked a TV crew during work. The incident occurred on the ring road. The woman approached the journalists, hit the correspondent and scratched the cameraman's face.

"The investigative department for the Vyborg district of the General Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city of St. Petersburg has opened a criminal case against a woman on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 144 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Obstruction of the legitimate professional activities of journalists combined with violence against a journalist")," the press service said in a statement.

It is specified that the woman was detained. Investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.

Earlier that day, employees of a company illegally selling "beautiful" license plates for cars attacked Izvestia correspondent Alexei Poltoranin, who was investigating the company's activities. The journalist came to the company's office under the guise of a buyer to find out details about the schemes for selling government numbers. The company's employees suspected that Poltoranin was a journalist, surrounded and attacked him. The men took the correspondent's phone and beat him, hitting him several times in the stomach.
