Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on holding the third Russia—Africa summit in Moscow in 2026. The relevant document was published on March 25 on the official Internet portal of legal information.
"To designate Moscow as the venue for the third Russia—Africa summit and other events in the Russia—Africa format in 2026. <...> To appoint Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Ushakov Yu.V. as Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the third Russia—Africa Summit and other events in the Russia-Africa format in the Russian Federation in 2026."- it is said in the text of the document.
In addition, the head of the Forum's Organizing Committee is instructed by the decree to approve the organizational structure and develop a program of events within a month. It is noted that the decree comes into force from the date of signing.
Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui yesterday confirmed the participation of the Chinese delegation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. In a conversation with Izvestia, he said that a high-ranking Chinese official would lead the delegation from China.
