The Russian government has reduced the notification of dismissal of IT employees

The Russian government on Wednesday, March 25, signed a decree that reduces the notice period for dismissal of IT employees with a delay from conscription from two weeks to five days.

The text quoted by RIA Novosti states that the amendments were made to the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated March 28, 2022 No. 490. Now, in paragraph 5 of the resolution, the words "within two weeks" have been replaced with "within five calendar days from the date of dismissal of citizens"

Changes are being made to the rules for granting the right to receive a deferral from military service to those working in accredited IT organizations. The rule has been in effect since March 2022.

On November 11, 2025, the Russian Ministry of Defense proposed amendments to the rules for granting draft deferrals for citizens working in accredited organizations in the field of information technology. As explained in the department, the changes relate to the organization and conduct of conscription during the year from January 1 to December 31.
