Putin appointed Viktor Melnik Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree appointing Viktor Melnik to the post of Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation. The document was published on March 25 on the official Internet portal of legal information.
"Appoint Viktor Dmitrievich Melnik as Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, relieving him of his post," the document says.
In addition, the decree appointed Andrei Gurishev as Prosecutor of St. Petersburg, Pyotr Zaburko as prosecutor of the Leningrad Region, and Denis Nazarenko as prosecutor of the Tver Region for a five—year term. The decree comes into force from the date of its signing.
On February 4, the Russian President appointed Sergey Bazhutov and Sergey Tabelsky as Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.
On January 21, Putin dismissed Alexey Polkovnikov from the post of deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo. The decree came into force on the day of its publication.
