The prosecutor's office has filed an appeal against the verdict of blogger Arsen Markarian in the case of the rehabilitation of Nazism. This was reported to Izvestia in court on March 25.

It is clarified that the blogger's defense also filed a complaint against the verdict.

In early March, the court sentenced Markarian to four years and six months in prison to serve his sentence in a general regime colony. The defendant fully admitted his guilt.

The list of diseases contraindicated for this punishment will be determined by the government.

According to the investigation, in March 2025, Markarian posted a publicly available video on a video hosting site in which he expressed contempt for the feat and memory of Hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Matrosov. In addition, the blogger published an entry justifying Nazism.

Markarian's detention became known on August 23 last year. The police found the blogger in the trunk of a car that was stopped near Kubinka in the Moscow region. The investigative authorities completed the investigation of the criminal case against the blogger in December last year. On February 9, he was transferred to the court for consideration on the merits.
