The Soueast car brand explained the sharp decline in sales in Russia
The decline in sales of Soueast cars in Russia at the beginning of 2026 is not due to a decrease in consumer demand, but to the volume of car deliveries to the brand's dealerships. This was announced by the press service of the Chinese car brand to Izvestia on March 25.
As reported in Autostat, 76 new Soueast vehicles were registered in Russia in January — February 2026, which is 4.5 times lower than in the same period last year (354 units). At the same time, not a single car built in 2026 has been sold yet.
Commenting on these calculations, Soueast representatives stated that at the beginning of the year, the 2025 cars delivered earlier to dealers were fully implemented.
"Accordingly, this volume reflects the overall sales picture of the brand. In March of this year, shipment of 2026 cars to Russian dealers began, and in this regard, we expect sales growth to resume, commensurate with the volume of deliveries to the dealer network," the Soueast press service told Izvestia.
Soueast intends to expand the brand's product range in Russia. On March 12, representatives of the company announced that sales of the Soueast S06 crossover in Russia will begin in the spring of this year. This model will be the third and most compact in the Russian line of the brand. The company expressed the hope that the appearance of new products will contribute to the growth of consumer demand and strengthen the brand's presence in the market.
Earlier that day, it was reported that the company in Nizhny Novgorod had completed the preparation of infrastructure and equipment for the mass production of models of the revived Volga brand. The first car has already started its journey along the assembly line. The first Volga model was announced on March 19, this is the Volga K50 crossover, the launch of sales of the SUV is scheduled for the summer of 2026.
