In any case, Russia will achieve the goals of the special military operation (SVO). This opinion was expressed on March 25 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

"Russia's position, even if you don't like it <...> is at least reasonable <...> They will follow the goal. And they will achieve it. In any case," Orban said in an interview with blogger Mario Naufalu, who posted it on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

He also noted that if Europe recognizes Ukraine as a buffer zone, it will be able to rebuild fruitful cooperation with the Russian Federation. The politician added that Europe should recognize that Ukraine will not become a member of the European Union (EU) and NATO.

On March 18, Orban announced that the period of expansion of the North Atlantic Alliance to the east had ended. He stressed that the West, without coordination with Russia, had changed the security system in Europe, declaring its desire to accept Ukraine into NATO.

Prior to that, on March 16, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that European countries were preparing for a protracted conflict on the continent and were confident that the Ukrainian conflict would not end within a year. He accused the leadership of the EU, Germany and Ukraine of trying to involve Europe. According to the diplomat, there is still "military fanaticism" in Brussels, which threatens the future of Europe.
