Kazakhstan noted the role of Putin and Tokayev's efforts in developing relations
Thanks to the efforts of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the countries' relations are developing very successfully and dynamically. This was announced on March 25 during the Russian-Kazakh government talks in Astana by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov.
"I want to say that thanks to the efforts of the leaders of our countries, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, allied and strategic partnership relations are developing very successfully and dynamically," Bektenov said.
He added that Tokayev's state visit to Moscow in November 2025 gave a new impetus to the development of relations. Astana pays "special attention to the upcoming state visit of Russian President Putin to Kazakhstan."
In a conversation with Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on March 20, Putin confirmed his readiness to further develop strategic partnership relations between the two countries. The Russian leader also congratulated Tokayev on the successful holding of the referendum.
On February 15, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Kazakhstan Alexei Borodavkin said that Moscow and Astana were discussing the upcoming talks and the dates of Putin's visit to Kazakhstan. He expressed confidence that the Russian leader's visit to Kazakhstan would become an important event in the history of the countries' relations.
