The premiere of the symbol opera "Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky" took place
On March 23, the long-awaited premiere of the unique epic symbol opera "Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky" took place in the cathedral hall of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. This is not just a performance, it is a musical and dramatic action that combines symphonic music, folk singing and modern musical forms in a vivid costumed performance.
The audience was able to plunge into the heroic struggle of the Novgorodians against the Teutonic Order at the turn of the 13th century, relive the dramas and conflicts of that era and see how the choice of Prince Alexander Nevsky determined the course of history for centuries to come. According to Valeria Yakovleva, Vice-president of the Foundation for the Development of Cultural and Spiritual Values in the Name of the Holy Royal Passion—Bearers, Alexander Nevsky's personality is, first of all, the image we should strive for.
"We hope that the project that the foundation is implementing today will yield good results. First of all, everyone will be able to find something for themselves, especially when the country, as well as the existence of Alexander Nevsky, our blessed prince, is going through a difficult period. By his example, he was able to unite people, the country and inspire hearts," Yakovleva notes.
The plot focuses on the spiritual and moral confrontation between the people and the merchant power, the tragic conflict between Prince Alexander Nevsky and his sworn brother Yaroslav. Vyacheslav Lopukhov, the composer and author of the text, emphasized: "The opera symbol is the meanings that have become clear to us today. The meaning of Alexander Nevsky and his symbolism lies in the spirit of victory, which he laid at the foundation of Russian statehood. There is an expression called catharsis. "Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky" gives you the opportunity to purify your soul by immersing yourself in catharsis."
"The more I play Alexander Nevsky, the more I read, learn about him, and realize how great this image is, a great symbol. He is the one our Motherland needs right now," notes Sergey Proskurin, the conductor of the symbol opera "The Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky."
This project not only immerses in historical content and dramatic intrigue, but also turns to modern themes of leadership, responsibility and moral choice. Alexander Nevsky stands as a symbol of a strong personality and heroism, inspiring the younger generation to realize the importance of patriotism and moral choice in our time.
Alexander Bormatov, author of the project "Heroes from our yard!" added: "We are glad that there are more and more such projects that help young people find their bearings and be inspired by examples of courage."
The exhibition "Warriors of Light" was also held as part of the event, where more than 70 original canvases and sculptures of the creative association of the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and the Order of the Red Star of the Studio of Military Artists named after M.B. Grekov were presented.
