Tikhon Kotrelev was born in Moscow on September 17, 1976 in the family of a philologist and an artist. He graduated from the Moscow gymnasium and entered the Russian State University. Kotrelev worked as a journalist for seven years, and then changed his professional direction and received a diploma from the Russian Institute of Theatrical Arts (RATI-GITIS). Subsequently, he was an actor at the Studio of Theatrical Art for several years.

Kotrelev's first wife was actress Elena Plaksina. This marriage lasted for several years.

Death

Actor, screenwriter and director Tikhon Kotrelev died at the age of 49. This was reported on March 25 by TASS with reference to the artist's entourage. The actor's son pointed out that his father died "after a long and difficult illness."

Earlier, on March 23, the Telegram channel 112, citing its own sources, reported on Kotrelev's hospitalization in a psychiatric clinic. The actor did not contact his family for three days, which prompted his sister to personally come to his house.

At the same time, it became known that Kotrelev was diagnosed with pancreatic necrosis, a dangerous condition that occurs as a complication of acute pancreatitis, in which the pancreas partially loses its functions.
