One of the main reasons for the shallowing of the Tura River in Tyumen is the active development of the coastal territory. This opinion was expressed by local historian Alexander Petrushin.

"Cleaning the bottom will help alleviate the situation, it is "wooden" there. For three centuries, there was a solid alloy and the logs (logs and driftwood that sank during the rafting — Ed.) filled the entire bottom of the Tura," the expert said in an interview with the news agency " <url>".

According to the expert, every summer the opposite shore cleans itself a little from these logs, but they need to be removed. Petrushin also called for attention to be paid to the fact that high-rise buildings will "take away" a lot of water.

He recalled that in the middle of the 19th century, construction in the zarechnaya part of the city was prohibited, so there were lakes, swamps and other sources that fed the Tura. The local historian predicts that the river may completely dry up in five years.

According to the regional authorities, the shallowing of the river is associated not only with a clogged riverbed, but also with a shortage of precipitation and water in the catchment area. The government assured that clearing the reservoir would not save it from shallowing.

In general, the water content of rivers in the Ural Federal District has decreased by almost half. The situation was affected by the outflow of the Ob and other rivers of the Gulf of Ob. To preserve the Tour, the local historian recommended that the region unite with the Sverdlovsk region, where the waterway also flows.

Earlier, local historian Petrushin said that Lake Alabashevo, located on the floodplain of Tura, could disappear from the map of Tyumen. Clearing the reservoir will improve the situation, but it will not save it from complete shallowing.
