Mishustin instructed the Ministry of Transport to work out a mechanism for post-payment of parking

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation to work out the proposals of deputies on the legislative consolidation of the mechanism of post-payment for parking. The report should be submitted by June 1, the government's website reported on March 25.

It is noted that due to the post-payment of parking, a motorist can pay for parking time after its completion instead of prepayment.

As previously noted in the Ministry of Transport, such a measure will increase the payment discipline of drivers who use paid parking lots and reduce the number of fines against bona fide motorists.

On February 25, Mishustin supported the introduction of a post-payment mechanism for urban parking during a speech in the State Duma. Later, in March, Vladislav Grib, Deputy Secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, noted that now drivers have to be distracted by paying and "frantically" rush to close the parking bill in order not to receive a fine.
