Yalta is actively engaged in the process of replacing signage in a foreign language with Russian-speaking ones. During the inspections, the authorities identified about 370 similar objects. Their owners received a memo on compliance with the new requirements of the law.

According to the mayor Yanina Pavlenko, quoted by the news agency SevastopolMedia, more than 50 entrepreneurs dismantled English-language signs from buildings. 182 received orders.

On March 1, changes in legislation came into force stating that all information signage, signs, signs and inscriptions must be in Russian only. The exceptions are brand names, service marks, and trademarks. After the main text in Russian, it is acceptable to additionally post information in the language of the peoples of the Russian Federation or foreign languages.

Compliance with the new requirements for the use of the Russian language in public space will be monitored by the FAS, Rospotrebnadzor and Roskomnadzor. Fines are provided for violation of consumer rights in the design of signage.
