A 500 kg WWII-era aerial bomb was defused in Crimea
In Crimea, an aerial bomb weighing 500 kg and several rounds of ammunition were defused in the Leninsky district. Suspicious objects were found by residents of the village of Kamenskoye.
Pyrotechnics went to the place of discovery. They conducted reconnaissance and determined that the explosive object was a German SC-500 aerial bomb from the Great Patriotic War. During a survey of the territory, experts found two hand grenades and four artillery shells.
It turned out to be impossible to transport the bomb, so it was decided to detonate it on the spot. Before that, local residents were warned through a loudspeaker to ensure their safety, writes IA SevastopolMedia.
The ammunition was destroyed using an overhead charge of industrial TNT.
Earlier it was reported that in the Kaliningrad region, specialists from the demining groups of the separate marine engineering regiment of the Baltic Fleet defused more than 500 munitions from the Great Patriotic War. The ammunition found and defused includes cartridges, artillery shells, faust cartridges, as well as mortar and naval mines.
