RU TV channel.TV expands the broadcast format
TV channel RU.TV where only Russian-language hits have been played for 20 years, it expands musical boundaries. The channel first aired a clip in the national language – the song "Ay, bylbylym" by the Bashkir ethnic group Ay Yola and singer Alsou.
The launch of the song launched a new concept aimed at supporting the national cultures of our country. As part of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, RU TV channel.TV starts broadcasting clips of artists who sing in their native language. The editor-in-chief of the RU TV channel spoke about the significance of this step.TV by Alexander Trufanov:
"Russia is a multinational country, and music here has always been a universal language that unites hearts. The new concept of the RU TV channel.TV aims to show through musical projects the richness of traditions and the power of unity of peoples, to preserve the continuity of generations. Now, not only hits in Russian will be played on the air, but also songs reflecting the diversity of our country's cultures."
The song "Ay, bylbylym" (translated from Bashkir – "Ay, nightingale") was released on January 7, 2026. It is based on folk motifs, referring to the epic "Ural-Batyr". The text tells about the singing of a bird at dawn by the Belaya River, an image filled with lyrics and deep emotional meanings. The visual solution of the video highlights the national flavor: stylized Bashkir costumes, winter landscapes, forest and mountain landscapes.
The collaboration combined the traditions of two peoples: singer Alsu, representing Tatar culture, and the Bashkir trio Ay Yola created a project emphasizing the unity of national cultures. Alsou became a guest of the TV channel's studio RU.TV where she presented her work live and talked about the importance of such projects for the modern music industry.
"Folk art is our roots, our origin. It is very important to know him, because where we came from, who our parents, grandmothers, and great–grandfathers were, is our history, and we are like this today thanks to them...> We need to popularize our ethnic creativity: take some kind of national instrument or the chorus of a folk song and frame the original sound with modern arrangements," Alsu emphasized.
On the air of the channel, viewers will be able to hear the voices of different peoples of Russia and experience a unique combination of national motifs and modern sound.
