Khabarovsk Territory districts will be turned into municipal districts

A large-scale reform of local self-government continues in the Khabarovsk Territory. The laws regulating the procedure for the formation of Amur, Nanai and Komsomolsk municipal districts were adopted at a meeting of the regional legislative Duma.

IA AmurMedia, citing Alexey Shcherbakov, a representative of the Committee on internal policy of the regional government, explains that the region is creating a unified management system instead of dividing it into district and rural administrations. This is done in strict accordance with the updated federal and regional legislation.

Municipalities are also interested in this, as it is a real tool for them to develop their territories, Shcherbakov said.

Ekaterina Maslovskaya, Chairman of the Nanai District Assembly of Deputies, noted that the authorities had developed a new administration structure. It will include territorial administrations. They will solve topical issues of rural settlements.

In 2023, as part of the reform, the Okhotsk Municipal District appeared as a result of the transformation. Then the Bikinsky and Solnechny districts were transformed. Since the beginning of this year, Sovetsko-Gavansky, Vaninsky and Vyazemsky districts have received the status of districts. Next up are the Polina Osipenko district, Ayano-Maysky, Verkhnebureinsky, Tuguro-Chumikansky and Ulchsky districts.

Earlier it was reported that in the Khabarovsk Territory, municipalities want to give the right to regulate the placement of personal mobility equipment (SIM). The relevant bill was considered in the autumn at a meeting of the committee of the regional Legislative Duma on construction, housing and communal services and fuel and energy complex. According to Duma Chairman Nikolay Shevtsov, deputies advocate for ensuring pedestrian safety.
