Production of Volga cars started in Nizhny Novgorod

The company in Nizhny Novgorod has completed the preparation of the plant's infrastructure and equipment for the serial production of models of the revived Volga brand. The first car has already started its journey along the assembly line, the brand's press service announced on March 25.

The first Volga cars will be available at authorized dealerships in the third quarter of 2026. The line will include models in the D-SUV, C-SUV and D-sedan classes, which will be produced at the plant in Nizhny Novgorod, where previously Skoda and Volkswagen cars were produced.

The project is being implemented by JSC "Production of Passenger Cars" (PLA). The maximum capacity of the plant is 110 thousand vehicles per year. The goal of the project is to create our own original Volga models with unique product characteristics and a local component base, the company previously emphasized.
